Hydrogen Power

What comes in mind are:

-Cost extracting Hydrogen: Cost of designing and building the Equipment( it is like, somewhat extracting juice from an apple...of course the tools for extracting apple juice is creaper than separating Hydrogen from water for instance *H20...)

-How to store Hydrogen fuel? (very explosive)

-How to transport (or distribute): Remember is colorless, odorless and highly volatile. (How about parking Hydrogen fueled vehicle in the garage...maybe NOT!)

-How to change from natural state, gas...to solid for easy transport.

-Nature friendly, which means the byproduct will not produce pollution.

-Who will be the main user of Hydrogen fuel.

What Happen?

The only thing I remember from last night was reading my blog then, sat on the couch to do my homework...then woke up late the following day! See what sleep depriviation can do for you?...

Emailed work! (yes, I am not working today...yes, I am so sad for not working today...NOT!)

Yes!...a whole day of doing nothing! Now, let me see...too late to see the sunrise...I still have time to go to gym and hit the book after. And I have plenty of time to see the sunset, have ample time to go to school without fighting the traffic, without fighting for parking space at the college and without fighting to get in class on time...ah, such a perfect day...

8 hours of no work = plenty of time of what I wanted to do for the entire day... :)...

Playing With Numbers

Yes, maybe...I could be a 250lbs woman who is surfing the web everyday... having Bon Bon for breakfast, lunch and dinner and having no ambition...no goals in life. Just satisfied to stay home...is that so wrong?

Knowledge

You stop learning when you think you know everything...

There are so many things to learn to little time. Talking about knowledge....knowledge without application is not a knowledge. Learning something must have some function or purpose. For instance, a person who is learning new words everyday must have some purpose....

Talking about Mathematics...

One ideas comes to mind when when seeing a equation with in a 2nd power...you should be able to see pictures by looking at the equation. Here are several example...

Y= ax2 + bx + c (a time to x in the second power)...

Application:

If I have a only 100ft fence, and I want to an enclose a chicken, and wanted the max area for my precious chicken....there are many ways how to do it...

remember the area of square or reactangle? A=LW---> Area= _ft x _ft = _square ft

A1=50ft x 50ft = 25000 square ft (if I enclosed my chicken in a square)
A2=25ft x 75ft = 1875 square ft ...see the difference? The chicken has more room if enclosed in a square rather than rectangle....

Changing the shape using a 100ft fencing gives minimum and maximum area...

When it gets complicated...you will be seeing the equation above...here another example...out of anger, you threw rock at the bird who bombed you car after you waxing. The rock goes up and goes down...using this equation, you will be able to solve the maximum height the rock could reach...

In short, recognizing the equation, you should be able to see the application...if you are memorizing the equations or formula...it indicates that you do not quite understand...

I am terrible explaining things...sorry if you could not understand me. It happens quite often to me...I could not understand myself... :)

Oh, look at the time...I am late again...to be continued...

Good Morning World

What a long weekend. The time passed by so quick it almost run me over. It is almost 5:20 and I am still here sitting down. My clothes in the washer almost dry, tea is boiling, and I am ready to load my dirty blankets to the washer. Oh, I almost forgot...my lunch. Buying lunch in the cafeteria is a NO, No, No...since I sit almost 10 hrs a day, I have to watch what I eat or else I will be candidate for Sumo(?) restle(?)...early in the morning...physically awake but not mentally...

People do different millions things everyday like me...sometimes it is overwhelming, but I learn to cope with it...

Pattern of events give pattern of consequences...and I am waiting patiently for mine...

Radar Goliath

by Frank Vizard, Popular Mechanics, January 2007

SOLAR PANELS: The design hasn't been finalized, but the unmanned radar airship will likely use top-mounted solar cells to stay aloft for up to a year.

PROPULSION: The airship will probably rely on low-speed electric propellers. It's intended to stay in one position, at an altitude of mor than 65,000 ft. for extended periods.

RADAR ARRAY: The curved array will be attached to the airship's super structure, and will able to monitor a 400-plus-mile swath of rural and urban terrain.

"PROJECT ISIS" has the of a James Bond movie, but it actually comes from an acronym (albeit a clumsy one) for a new curved radar array being developed by Raytheon and DARPA, the Pentagon's research arm. The Integrated Sensor Is Structure concept calls for such arrays running along the wings, tail and underbelly of military or commercial aircraft. Eventually, it could replace the flat-panel radar antennas typically found in a plane's nose, providing improved surveillance capabilities and better 360-degree threat detection. ISIS technology is set to debut in 2009 as part of a colossal unmanned airship parked at more than 65,000ft. Over combat zones. Bonding the ISIS radar to the airship's superstructure will cut down on overall weight, and allow for a huge, continuous array. At anywhere from 164 to 328 yards in lengths, the airship will be the largest airborne radar antenna ever built, able to track everything from aircraft to individual troops across hundreds of miles. Controlled remotely from the ground, the airship will ascend to the stratoshpere and could take the place of standard surveillance aircraft, remaining in place for up to a year. Parts of the curved radar array have been tested successfully in the lab by Rayteon, but at press time no contracts had been announced for the design of the airship itself.

hmmm...approximately twice the length of BOEING 747...

What's Next After

I got perfect score on my first two exams today. Unlike the very first, this time after I saw my grades, there was no excited. The fun, the thrill, the anticipation...gone. What to expect after this? Nothing...There is nothing to look forward to as far as taking the exam. The exam events became a norm...

So what's next? Hmmm...something fun, exciting...how about being bad? Yes, yes...I will try for one day see what is like to bad.

Tomorrow, I will say all the bad words in one sentence. Oh, no I should probably break the words down so I do not sound so desperate to say all the forbidden words (Hmmm...taking about bad things, I feel like evil already...)

"Be very afraid, for I shall throw the seeds of evil among you all..."

Perhaps I should start practicing my evil laugh. I will leave my long messy hair like I always have every morning, and leave the marcara around my eyes to scare everyone tomorrow...oh no, I look more like a witch than evil...hmmm I will think of something...

Probability

Reaccuring pattern-this month alone, at least five accidents accured so far here nearby where I live. It is down hill with a sharp turn curve road.

Most of the winter month, in the middle of the night, I could here the impact of the car to the cement barrier. The barrier was placed on the edge of the curve to prevent cars from going stright down. Inspite of its visibility, careless driver continue to ignore until it was too late.

Again, trying to challenge the Law of Nature...they (careless drivers) will never have the chance.

Repetitive behaviour will result repetitive consequence...it is all about pattern of behavior and events, which translates to probability...I would like to elaborate this topic futher unfortunately, I needed my sleep...

My Shadow

It was so strange today. A man whom I met once two days ago started showing up in several places that I visited this morning. Coincidence?

Talking about probability...

What are the chances of the "MAN" and I be in three different places in half a day? It is the man who almost collided with me several days ago...

I am lazy to hit the book, instead I will go to bed early tonight...

Your Dad was Wrong

A lot of traditional automotive wisdom just doesn't hold up
by Jim Dunne, Popular Mechanics, January 2007

DAD SAID: "Let the engine idle to warm up on cold days." BUT: Idling just wears the engine without budging the odo. Les Ryder, chief powertrain engineer at Ford, says, "Engines run best at their design temperature." To get there sooner, start by driving at moderate speeds. Your engine will be okey: Modern oils flow fine in cold weather.

"RESTARTING THE ENGINE USES MORE GAS THAN IDLING." Why do you think all these new hybrids shut down the engine at traffic lights? It takes almost no fuel to restart a warm engine. If you had a car that was hard to restart, and the carburetor(remember them?) flooded regularly, this may have had a germ of truth, but no longer.

"DON'T REPLACE WIPER BLADES, JUST CLEAN THEM WITH SOLVENT."Mineral spirits and other petroleum-based solvents kill rubber. Occasionally wiping the blades with alcohol removes dirt, but the rubber blades still deteriorate with age and sunlight, and must be replaced regularly.

"FILL UP WITH PREMIUM EVERY FEW TANKFULS." Unless your owner's manual recommends it, you're wasting money. Regular-grade gas has the additives to keep your engine clean. In fact, modern engines rated for premium will run relatively well on regular-you'll lose a little zip, but you'll save a few bucks.

"KEEP CINDER BLOCKS IN THE TRUNK FOR TRACTION." If you have a pickup or rear drive car, some weight over the drivewheels can help in the slop. But a front-drive can already has the weight over the drivewheels: Junk in the trunk will unload them, hurting traction. Extra weight hurts handling and mileage, so don't overdo it.

"PUMP THE PEDAL BEFORE STARTING IN COLD WEATHER." This was true when cars had carburetors and chokes. A couple of extra squirts of gas meant a richer starting mixture. It also set the choke. Fuel-injected engines automatically adjust mixture-pumping the pedal does nothing. So fight that impulse and just turn the key.

"FILL THE RADIATOR WITH PURE ANTI-FREEZE." Wrong. Coolants are mostly glycol, and too much glycol can damage gaskets. Pure glycol freezes before a glyco/water mix does, so it provides less cold-weather protection. Also, glycol isn't as effective as water at removing heat from the engine.

"OIL NEVER WEARS OUT JUST TOP IT OFF ONCE IN A WHILE." Technically, this is true. But as Robert Sutherland of Pennzoil notes, "The oil's critical additives do get depleted." Besides, changing a car's oil and filter eliminates built up crud.

"IF YOU PARK FOR A LONG TIME, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY." The car always draws some current and can run down the battery in a month or so. But if the battery is disconnected, the engine computer has to reprogram itself-and driveability suffers until it does. Plus you'll have to reset the clock and radio. The fix? Attach a trickle charger.

"NO NEED FOR SNOW TIRES, ALL-SEASONS DO A FINE JOB." Don't blame Dad. When all-season tires appeared, the tiremakers spent a lot of time and money convincing us of their year-round capability. Today, they're happy to explain why snow tires are better. Bridge-stone engineering manager Mark Kuykendall says, "Snow tires have treads that remain pliable in the cold and are aggressive to catch the road surface."

Who was the Mystery Man?

Actually, the centrifugal force keeps object in line with the curve, but if the object exceeded the maximum (calculated assigned) speed of a certain curve, the object will be off track...

As the gentlemen, who almost collided with me that cold freezing night, he was driving down, and I was driving up on the winding icy road. He exceeded the speed limit and with no friction on the road...he lost control of the vehicle...his car went down and crashed down into the drainage...into the ditch. I could see the vehicle's impact on my view mirror. The road has no shoulder, and it would be suicidal to stop and offer help...not until I reach the top. As soon I found a safe to park my car, which took about less than 2 minutes, I called for help, then without wasting anytime opened the trunk, put on the winter gear (emergency gear, which I called the spaceman suit), took the emergency kit, locked the car and run down the hill (the gravel that was pushed on the side of the road help me to run a little bit faster).

As soon I got to the scene, all I could see was the vehicle's tail light. As I walked towards the front, I saw the right front frame of the car hit the foot of the hill and was pushed hard back...totally damaged! I held the small flashlight, which was hanging on my neck, to see if the occupant was alright. When I saw him looking towards me, not only then my breathing went back to normal. He gave me the universal hand gesture indicating he was okey, but pointing the door...he could only open the door about a foot not enough for him to get out. The thick layer of frozen ground prevented him from opening the door. I showed him the tool...a small tool that could break window, but immediately gave he a "NO" hand signal. With his car positioned downward; slightly shocked...distrout...he managed to rolled down his window.

I told him calmly that the recue team was on way shortly, offered him a thin blanket and suggested him to stay inside car because of the temperature was extremely cold. He took the blanket and thank me...

"By the way..." he said, "Your friend decided to stay in the car huh?"

"What friend?" I asked him cluelessly to what he was asking.

"The guy sitting next to you..." mumblingly he continued, "I saw him looking at me when I passed you by...before I crashed. Probably, he wanted to kill me right now huh?"

"No...," I answered.

Misunderstood what he said, I cut the conversation brief then, climbed up to the road, and I looked around making sure the there was no uninvited guest will come and join the party...

"Where are the recue team? Why are they taking so long? asked worriedly to myself.

A couple of days later, as I was looking back...recreating the accident...I remembered him mentioned about man...a man with me in the car; sitting in front; sitting next to me...is he hallucinating that night? That night I was driving home from school...alone...

Bad Weather

Every time...bad weather like this...ICE ON THE ROAD.

CURVE + ICE ROAD + EXCESSIVE SPEED = ACCIDENT

People ignore the law of nature...one of which states that if you are driving on a curve and exceeded the maximum speed, your car and of course, you inside...will be flying perpedular away from the curve (road)...and the amount of force you use stop your vehicle is the same amount of force to pushed you forward...not convince? What happen when you hit the brake and suddently your body move backward then forward? the force moving your body forward is the same force moving backward....

Sorry that is one of the law of nature...it will never change and will continue to occur...

Hmmm...let me think about this...its been a while since I took Physics...I could be mistaken. Why dont you try...now, is the time...perfect weather. Try not to wear seat belt, and how about driving while you are talking on your cell phone too...see what happen...

Yes, I almost collide with another speeding vehicle on the way home today (@%$#&*!)

Run Out of Time

My other class went well...great teacher! I could not wait to be in his class...

As usual, I physically and mentally exhausted...

The snow storm supposed to be here now, but...hmmm...it will be nice if El Nino will come here for a change...

What a Night

I am quite happy with one of my classes...the professor is not what I have expected to be...specially in a high level class; an advance class...I should say.

So I decided not to attend the class and I will just study at home...

Back to the basic of Mathematics. From addition, subraction...all the way to Beginning and Elementary Algebra it is all about learning the mechanics of Math. Nope...not a lot of thinking...just a repetitive work, but at the very end of Intermidiate Algebra...like for instance, graphing; plotting gives you a mental picture of what the equation would look like...yes, the thinking process takes over...and that is the fun part...you could actually visualize and see that actually numbers have shapes; forms...even color (hmmm...)

Learning the language of Mathematics gives us better understanding to all the amazing things around us...

Wow, I could not believe I am actually going to bed this early...

Classic

Wow, I went to bed lastnight around 11:30pm and I got up 1:30pm...long sleep gave me a headache!

Anyway, as I was mentioned mathematics always tells story...how? Without mathematical language it would not possible for us to see and appreciate the increable, the an imaginable structures built by man hundred years ago.

For instance, the amazing pyramids in Egypt. The Egyptian Kings built the pyramids as their tombs.

[Facts: Khufu's Pyramid-How Wide? The base of the Great Pyramid is a square with each side measuring 230 m (756 ft) and covering an area of 5.3 hectares (13 acres).Imagine a football field. Nearly 10 football fields could fit within the base. The area of the base is also equal to about seven city blocks in New York City. How Tall? At 146.5 m (481 ft) high, the Great Pyramid stood as the tallest structure in the world for more than 4,000 years. Today it stands at 137 m (449.5 ft) high, having lost 9.5 m (31 ft) from the top.-pbs.org]

How about the great wall of China? The Great Wall of China was built to protect the Chinese from invadares.

Facts: The Great Wall is the world's longest man-made structure, stretching over a formidable 6,352 km (3,948 miles)- Wikipedia; Approximately it would stretch from Los Angeles to Boston - chinahighlights.com]

The Taj Mahal in India? It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal...once again love story was translated through the language of mathematics...

[Facts: It took about 20 years to build; 20,000 labourers, engineers and architects to erect the structure, and the Taj was inspired by the Humayun's tomb in Delhi.- Taymahalagra.com

We still continue learning, and continue translating the language of mathematics...and we only have read, heard and seen a few of these amazing stories...

The Second Day

Today is the second day of class. ____! I hate my class schedule! curses! curses! curses! and more curses!...5pm to 10pm every night! curses! So many things to do so little time...

There are so many things in my mind. My thoughts are so disorganized right now, and it is quite difficult for me to express it into words...perhaps if I get 4hrs of sleep tonight my mind in be crystal clear when I wake up tomorrow morning...
